About the Speakers
Dr Jane Eckett is a sessional lecturer in art history at the University of Melbourne
Harriet Edquist is Professor of architectural history at RMIT University and Director of the RMIT Design Archives
Emily Floyd is an artist who works across sculpture, print or public artwork. She grew up in a family of toymakers, where she learnt the craft of creating beautifully constructed wooden objects inspired by Eastern European traditions with roots in Modernist movements.
Robert Owen is one of Australia’s most eminent artists. He is known for his work across art, installation, education and urban design, and was the subject of survey exhibitions at Monash University Museum of Art in 1999 and the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2004. Owen represented Australia at the 38th Venice Biennale in 1978. Other recent exhibitions include Fallen Light, ARC ONE Gallery, Melbourne, 2012; Photographic Abstractions, Monash Gallery of Art, Melbourne, 2012; and The New MCA Unveiled, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2012.
