Turn the Soil
An exhibition of Objects by 2nd Generation Australians.
In June 1994, Craft Australia committed to the development of an exhibition that would explore the experience of second generation Australian craftspeople from a non-English speaking background and the influence of their parents’ homeland culture. An exhibition curator, Kevin Murray, was asked to develop a curatorial thesis and ‘Turn the Soil’ began its journey.
The development and management of the exhibition and the tour has been made possible through a collaboration betweenCraft Victorian and NETS Victoria working closely with the curator.
Artists include Anita Apinis-Herman, Neville Assad-Salha, Vizma Bruns, Philomena Hali, Arsim Memishi, Hanh Nguyet Ngo & Szuszy Timar.
Turn the Soil is a Craft Victorian Exhibition toured by NETS Victoria.
