Coveted relationships: the collector & the jeweller

Description

The RMIT Gallery contemporary jewellery exhibition MasterMakers explores the impact RMIT has had on the training of gold and silversmiths and the important connections and contributions that have followed.

Many of the highly regarded International artists in the exhibition have exhibited at Gallery Funaki in conjunction with the masterclass. This relationship has provided a wonderful opportunity for the artists to meet with the local contemporary jewellery community, collectors and public institutions.

RMIT hosts artist talks and public lectures where the content of the artists work and practices are explored. These relationships and connections have been reciprocal with many Australian contemporary jewellers being shown in International galleries and institutions.

Join Katie Scott, the Director of Gallery in conversation with artists as they explore the relationship between the collector and the jeweller.
